Coronavirus LIVE Updates: India reported a record daily jump of 90,632 coronavirus infections in 24 hours, taking its tally past the 41-lakh mark and inching closer to Brazil as the world’s second-most affected nation from the virus. India’s total case tally stands at 41,13,812 including 8,62,320 active cases, 31,80,866 cured/discharged/migrated and 70,626 deaths, the ministry of health said. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are the five states which reported the highest number of cases in the last 24 hours. These five states account for over 62 per cent of the active cases, according to the Health Ministry.

Democratic US vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris said she would not take President Donald Trump’s word alone on any potential coronavirus vaccine. In an interview excerpt broadcast by CNN on Saturday, Harris said Trump had a track record of suppressing expert opinion about the coronavirus pandemic and that she worried that might happen again in the case of a prospective vaccine. “I would not trust Donald Trump,” Harris said, saying she would be convinced of the efficacy of a vaccine only if someone credible were vouching for it as well. “I will not take his word for it.” At least 6.2 million people have been infected in the U.S. coronavirus outbreak, which has taken 187,833 lives.
