A major contact tracing operation is underway in Sydney for passengers who rode with a taxi driver infected with COVID-19.
Authorities are particularly worried about people who hailed the cab in the street instead of booking with their details.
The state government is now considering a mandatory check-in app for taxis – similar to ones used at cafes and restaurants.
