Both students were last at school Oct. 26

One student at Avenue Road Public School and one student at Manchester Public School in Cambridge have both tested positive for COVID-19.

Region of Waterloo Public Health and the Waterloo Region District School Board confirmed the cases on Saturday.

Both students were last at school on Oct. 26. Public Health has identified all high-risk contacts and have provided individual guidance to them.

High-risk contacts of the positive cases included some staff members and a student cohort at each school, and they have all been directed to self-isolate and will be able to return to school Nov. 9.

Public Health says that if you haven’t been contacted then your child is not considered a high-risk contact.

It’s the first confirmed case of COVID-19 at each school.
