Houston coronavirus updates: What you need to know for June 15

The number of total COVID-19 cases in Texas rose from 87,516 to 88,831 over the weekend, according to the Houston Chronicle Data Team.

In the Houston area, the regional case count is up to 22,901. Harris County added 210 new cases Sunday, for a grand total of 16,778 cases. The statewide death toll added 6 new deaths, meaning 1,980 people have died in Texas from the virus.
